Built-in 2003, the Hong Kong Maritime Museum located at Central Pier 8, Hong Kong, the museum is a non-profit registered charity. The museum is a vibrant, cultural institution dedicated to preserving, collecting and displaying objects that tell the story about trade and maritime in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta. It serves to display the history of waterway transportation in the coastal area of South China and the role of Hong Kong in this history. Today the Museum attracts 100,000 visitors annually where across 4,400 square meters more than 1,200 objects are displayed in 13 galleries on three levels.
