Relicase tailored the display cases for the Macao Museum including freestanding cases and wall cases, this is our first major showcases project in Macao. Our design and its craftsmanship were strongly praised by the client. It was our successful debut in Macao.
The Macao Museum is located on the hill of the Fortaleza do Monte in Santo António, Macau, China. Planning for the museum started in April 1995, its construction began in September 1996. The museum was inaugurated on 18 April 1998. The museum building is located within the interior of the Fortaleza do Monte. Its total size is about 2,800 square meters, with around 2,100 square meters of exhibition space.
The Museum consists of two underground levels and a third located on the topmost level of the Fortress, where the former Meteorological Service was housed. The architectural character of the site and its particular configuration have been retained and preserved.
The Macao Museum is a space dedicated to the history and culture of Macao, possessed of a vast number of objects of historical and cultural value, which demonstrate the way of life of the various communities that have inhabited the city for centuries.
