For the China National Silk Museum, Relicase designed the display cases for China Pavilion, Western Pavilion, Silk Road Pavilion, temporary exhibition hall etc.
China National Silk Museum (NSM), near the West Lake in Hangzhou, is one of the first state-level museums in China, covering an area of 42,286 square meters and a building area of 22,999 square meters. The China National Silk Museum (CNSM) opened on February 26, 1992.
In 2015, the museum started an extension and renovation project, after a year of trials and hardships, NSM finally embraces the audience from all over the world in a brand new look. During the extension and renovation project, Relicase supplied the museum display cases service.
As the largest specialized museum on textiles in China, the main goal of CNSM is to research and conserve Chinese textile relics. In 2010 it became the home of the Chinese Center for Textile Identification and Conservation (founded 2000).
The Museum has several permanent galleries, including 'the Story of Chinese Silk', 'Sericulture and Silk Craftsmanship in China', a 'Textile Conservation Gallery' and the 'Xinyou Archive Center'.
